Looking to winterproof your hands? This simple and effective DIY Sugar Hand Scrub is just what you need…
I don’t know about you but my hands are one of the first places to show signs of winter coming. They become rough and tight. They even split if I don’t do something about them quickly.
So one way I have started to try to combat this is to exfoliate my hands at least once a week. As with your face and body, hand exfoliation is essential to remove all the dead skin cells from the surface to create a smooth outer surface.
To keep your hands in tip-top condition, you also need to moisturise daily. Applying hand cream to the smooth exfoliated skin will aid the absorption and create healthy-looking hands and nails.
My favourite exfoliator is made from simple ingredients you will find in your kitchen. You can simply mix this up just before you want to use it.
DIY Sugar Hand Scrub
- ½ cup sugar (brown or granular)
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- Simply combine the sugar and oil together.
- Massage into your hands, remember to also apply it to the backs of your hands too.
- Rinse thoroughly and moisturise.
Tip: apply your hand cream before washing your pots and wear marigolds. Your moisturiser will penetrate deeper into your hands!
